Scooby

this summer working at noahs was extremely significant in many different ways, they are just as concerned about our spiritual growth as much as they are our knowledgeable growth in the trade of being a whitewater rafting guide, so we had to sit through this lecture day with a man who works with compassion international named rich van pelt, it was entitled how to be a "stretcher-bearer". I heard some of it about how we should be there for each other through everything, and from that point forward all i could think about was scooby-doo. i thought about his joyful and adventurous spirit his cowardly approach to solving every mystery his unshakable loyalty to his friends and the fact that shaggy was there through every single moment. this is a picture i drew during that lecture.
a few verses that God has shown me with this thought were these....
-"a man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother" proverbs 18:24
-" When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours." Romans 1:12
-"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another" Proverbs 27:17

on that last verse, i thoroughly believe that God has been allowing my friend Gandalf and I to conglomeratley see the same vision of a fellowship of brothers rising up within us. our friendships are starting to really mean something to us it is no longer simply a friendship because we like the same things , we are all beginning to see the gift that God has given us in community with one another through and only in his son Jesus Christ. a cool little side note that i was telling gandalf last night was this the fellowship we see coincidentally enough seems to look a lot like some of the attributes involved in the fellowship of the ring. and so as we all matured this summer and began to take hold of our relationship with Christ individually we all planned a trip together and met with each other in Colorado for my last week of work, it was like slowly listening to a magnificent symphony all summer, and the roaring climax was playing its loudest during the week we were together again, encouraging one another, sharpening one another, investing in the gifts that God has given us in each other. it was a fellowship in its most raw form. it was good. i think we can all learn a lot from scooby and shaggy.

the fellowship.

in order from top left down then up the right( incase you don't know why i am using these "nicknames") Achilles ,Ellouise , Odysseus , Optimus-prime , Gandalf, Francisco, McLovin.

we had a leadership meeting in the university ministry today and i am psyched for our group ash's heart and mine are in the same place in a lot of ways and it will be sick to see all the ways that God works this semester. kids whoever you are in our group we are praying for you guys =)
